A brief History of Nubia
The Nubians are a mix of African, Arab and Mediterranean Peoples
They have flourished for millennia in the Nile Valley stretching from Aswan in egypt to Dongola in Sudan.
Nubians, also Known as Kushites
have co-existed with Egyptians since 3000 B.C.They developed great empires of their ownincluding the Kingdom of Kush
Nubians formed the 25th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt and are credited with defending Jerusalem from Assyrian invaders in 701 BC.
They reunited Lower Egypt, Upper Egypt, and Nubia creating a vast empire and igniting An artistic and religious renaissance. It was during the 25th dynasty that the Nile valley saw the first widespread construction of pyramids.
Modern Nubia was decimated
by the construction of the Aswan Damn in 1971.
Thousands of displaced Nubians flooded into Cairo bringing their colorful history and heritage and deepening their undeniable role as shapers of the Great Egyptian legacy.
